The right ingredients

With our combined credentials, experience and flair, we strongly believe that we have the right blend of ingredients to fulfil our vision – which put quite simply, is to provide good quality, fresh and imaginative food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Both trained chefs, we are passionate about food and wine and have gone to great lengths to source good quality produce from the region and select highly drinkable and good value wines. We are also particular about our coffee and we sampled several coffee beans before making our choice.

Karen Aldridge, Owner and Head Chef
Karen was Head Chef at the Crown Hotel in Wells (where she caught the eye of Bob – or was it the goats cheese speciality (Goat's cheese in honey and mustard) that was the attraction!) Karen established her training ground in the kitchens of highly reputable establishments such as the Hoste Arms in Burnham Market, Norfolk and the Crown and Swan Hotels in Southwold, Suffolk.

Bob Foyers, Owner and Front of House Manager.
Bob established and owned The Deli in Wells next the Sea before opening The Bistro at the Deli. He trained as a chef in the Royal Navy and went on to be Sous Chef at the hugely popular Lifeboat Inn and Head Chef at the Jolly Sailor in North Norfolk.

Dear All,

Karen and I are really happy to find out that again we have been shortlisted for Delicatessen of the year in the EATD Suffolk magazine.  Unlike last year we are going to put a little more effort into self promotion. So we would like to ask for a little of your time to go to the EATD Suffolk magazine website and vote for us. If you would please click on this link EADT I would also ask if you would be so kind as to ask a few of your friends and family if they are able to cast their votes for us. We know it is very cheeky of us to ask but we would like to win this year.

Thanks so much, regards

Karen and Bob.
